East Bremerton Plaza, formerly Lowes and Eagle Hardware, will be the new home to Wilco and more than 35 team members.

Wilco currently operates 18 stores in Washington and Oregon. Bremerton will be the company’s 19th retail store and 6th store in Washington; joining Gig Harbor and Puyallup in the greater Seattle area.

Wilco is the largest farmer and rancher-owned agricultural supply cooperative in the Pacific Northwest. In addition to the stores, Wilco also operates Hazelnut Growers of Oregon to process and market hazelnuts and provides bulk fuel and lubricants and Agronomy services to full-time farmers and member-owners through a Valley Agronomics joint venture.

The new Bremerton store will be located at 4220 Wheaton Way, Bremerton WA. The total store is 37,000 square feet with 22,000 dedicated to retail space, 5,000 square foot covered greenhouse, full-service dog grooming shop, and the remainder dedicated to warehouse space with full-service load out. Outside the warehouse is 16,000+ square feet of yard space for fencing, gates, soils, and equipment.

The sales floor features convenience True Value hardware and Benjamin Moore paint, Purina feeds, and livestock supplies, a lawn and garden department, pet supplies and pet food with brands like Science Diet, Diamond, Canidae, and Taste of the Wild and a full-service Pet Grooming shop.

The facility will also include a 5,000-square-foot space dedicated to clothing that focuses on workwear and footwear with brands like Carhartt, Danner, Levi, Wrangler, and Ariat.

Hiring will start later this year as the new store adds over 35 new jobs to the community. These positions include full-time and part-time jobs in an array of areas including; Managers, Sales, Receiving, Groomers, Warehousers, and Cashiers.

“We’re excited to add a store in Bremerton to compliment the overwhelming community support we’ve received in Gig Harbor. We look forward to working with homeowners, animal enthusiasts, and farms in the area as we point towards a Grand Opening celebration next year,” said Jake Wilson, Marketing Director.

The new Wilco store is scheduled to open early in 2018. In the meantime, The East Bremerton Plaza’s ownership is actively marketing other areas of the center to revitalize the property and make it a thriving destination for the Bremerton community.
